CRPF Full Form

CRPF Full Form is the official name of the Central Reserved Police Force .The Central Reserve Police Force ( CRPF) has earned the distinction of being the largest of India's Central Armed Police Forces. It is under the tutelage of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) of the Government of India.

The CRPF's is primarily responsible helping the State/Union Territories with police operations to ensure law, order and peace and counter insurgency. It has held the command for anti-Naxal activities in the past five years and has achieved milestones worth conidering.

CRPF Full Form - A Brief History

CRPF was Originally constituted as it was originally known as the Crown Representative Police in 1939, it is one of the oldest Central paramilitary forces (now known as the Central Armed Police Force). CRPF was established due to the growing tensions and political turmoil of the Princely States of India following the Madras Resolution of the All-India Congress Committee in 1936, and the increasing desire from the crown representative for assistance to the vast majority of the indigenous States to ensure the law and order that was a component of the imperial policy.

Following the declaration of independence, the force was changed to Central Reserve Police Force by an Act of Parliament on December 28th 1949. The Act created CRPF as an armed force within the Union. Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, the Home Minister of the time, saw a broad role for it in tune with the ever-changing demands of a new independent nation.

The CRPF Rules as envisaged in CRPF Act were framed in 1955 and then published in the Gazette of India dated March 25 in 1955. Shri V.G.Kanetkar was appointed as the first Director General, CRPF.since the time, it has been working in a never-ending effort to improve the quality of life in India an ideal place to live and an abode of peace.
